Tips for planning the elopement or micro wedding of your dreams in Washington

More and more couples are finding that having a big wedding doesn’t align very well with their personalities, beliefs, and values, not to mention their budget.  They’re discovering that they really just want to elope so they can have a private, intimate ceremony but they also want to celebrate their special day with their favorite people. A lot of couples feel like it’s the best of both worlds.

Just like every couple has a unique love story, I believe every couple deserves to have their unique wedding day without a bunch of “shoulds” running the show. The only “should” I’m saying Yes to is that everyone should have a beautiful, authentic wedding day that feels right and true for them.

Soooo, do you want a tiny wedding on the beach in your bare feet? Yes.

Elopement in the mountains followed by a dinner party on the deck at your airbnb? Yes.

Intimate micro-wedding in a classic PNW forest setting with a yummy picnic? Yes.

Romantic ceremony and catered dinner in a lavender field? Yes.

Yes, yes, yes to all of these and more!

I’m here to help make it easy and fun to share your day with your nearest and dearest if that’s what you want. You can just soak up all the love and joy on your special day while I set the table, tiptoe away so you can celebrate, and then come back later to take it all away so you and your guests don’t have to lift a finger!

Even though an elopement or micro wedding is easier to plan, in many ways, there are still a lot of questions to consider.

Questions like Who, What and When come to mind first.

Who you want to include and in which parts of your day?

Do you want to have private vows for just you two followed by a gathering with your people later, share your whole day with everyone, or something in between?

What do you want to DO?

Sunrise ceremony or sleep in?

Adventure day or slow and relaxed?

When do you want to elope?

What season suits you best?

What’s your favorite part of the day?

If you love sunrise, be prepared to get up in the middle of the night to get ready and get to your ceremony spot cuz that sun might be coming up as early as 5:00 AM!

(That will never be me.  I’ll meet you back at the Airbnb when I’m setting your table for you!)

If you’re craving some magical golden hour portraits, you’ll need to find out what time the sun sets on your wedding day. It can be as late as 9:10 pm here in the PNW so be prepared for a long day.

(Maybe schedule a nap into your timeline? Seriously, I’ve seen couples do that and it’s so nice to take a break and cuddle up for some down time.)
